The project “The elder I become, the more I know” refers to an informal educational initiative. It addressed to the elderly people and focused on the development of their knowledge about European matters.
The project's main objectives were:
• to cover a gap of the existed lack in projects and other creative participation activities for the elderly people,
• to develop the European awareness of the elderly and the merits of the European citizenship,
• to sensitize the direct environment of the elderly on the rights the elderly people have in education,
• to bring closer the different ages,
• to promote the solidarity and the social cohesion towards the elderly people.

The project's activities focused on the creation of a mobile educational unit. A group of tutors in close collaboration with various local authorities carried out in different places thematic discussions addressed to organized groups of elderly. The thematic discussions included an introduction followed by a question-answer session and assimilation creative group games.

The partnership was formed by 6 organisations originated from 5 European Union countries (Germany, Ellas, Italy, Portugal and Spain). The six partners carried out 182 presentations in 79 centers for the elderly. A total of 8910 persons attended the presentations. Other beneficiaries were the direct family environment of the elderly, children, social workers and the social services for elderly of local authorities.
